Recommendation: | In the time that I have coached Maeve, I have been beyond impressed by her tenacity and athleticism. I currently coach her on the Team 180 2018 squad, where she has been an impact player since day one. Whether it be driving hard to cage and finding the back of the net or being scrappy and coming up with the ground ball in the midfield, her presence on the field is undeniable. Aside from her raw talent and natural field sense, she is a player that coaches love having the opportunity to coach. I feel comfortable and confident playing her at midfield, attack, as well as defense and she has always been eager and willing to play a part no matter what position. She takes what you say and applies it immediately into competitive game situations. Maeve is a well-rounded, hardworking, and positive player that is a stand out student athlete. I have no doubt that she would be successful playing at the next level. |

Recommendation: | (Freshman Year) Maeve is an extremely hard worker on and off the field. She holds herself to high standards during practice, games and in the classroom. Her athleticism is one of her biggest strengths as she can catch up to anyone to get the ball back or blow by someone in the midfield to push a fast break. Maeve is a selfless player on the field and an example of this would be when Columbine was playing for the league championship. We went into double over time and Maeve was placed on an outside 8 meter hash mark. Instead of taking the shot for herself, she fed the ball to an open player with a better angle and we won the game. One of the best qualities a player can have is being coachable. With Maeve's fun, outgoing personality and her ability to listen and apply high level strategies or tactics into the game when a coach asks her to do so, makes her a top recruit for her class. Sonorah Hunter (Sophomore Update)This past season, Maeve took a leadership role on our team by running the offense, setting up plays, feeding the ball, and taking solid one on one drives around the crease. Her quickness and ability to see the play develop is a strong suit and she's able to thread the needle to get the ball in to her team mates. Maeve was one of the hardest workers in practice, pushing herself to be better and make adjustments as necessary. Her competitive nature is apparent all over the field and it has not only made her a better player, it has also pushed our entire team to progress and step up to the plate. She also has a very spunky and fun personality on and off the field and is passionate about what is important to her. Maeve is a unique attacker and this season has pushed her to embrace her creativity. Although she is smaller in stature, she makes defenders respect her with her one on one drives and is always looking for the next pass. Maeve also works extremely hard in the midfield to transition the ball and get the ball back when there is an offensive turnover. She led the team in assists this 2016 season and received Jeffco 1st All Conference and team Offensive MVP. Academics are also important to Maeve. She holds herself to high standards in the classroom. She has excelled as a student athlete and has been a great example to the other girls in the Columbine program. Over the past year, Maeve has grown and excelled in a variety of ways. I continue to be impressed by her work ethic, attitude and passion for the sport of lacrosse. Any coach would be lucky to have her on their team! Sonorah Hunter |
