PERSONAL STATEMENT
I enjoy being a student athlete because balancing academics with athletics prepares me for the harsh situations that come with adult life. I like the term student athlete because it implies a student and academic first attitude. I was always taught that grades come first and I follow that standard regardless of the situation. I also enjoy helping younger students and athletes with any questions or problems that they face because I know how difficult it is to be a young student athlete. My curre

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Describe Your Playing Style?: When I play football I focus on the fundamentals of the offensive line. I concentrate on driving my feet and staying low and wide as I drive my opponent until the whistle. Hand placement is another key aspect in all of my blocks. While all of these previous aspects of blocking are very
important, I believe the footwork of a block to be the most crucial to drive a defender downfield. Although I believe all of my blocks to be strong, my zone block may be the strongest run block
in my arsenal. Pass blocking is probably the most challenging, rewarding and enjoyable.

I am not only an offensive lineman but a long snapper as well. Like blocking, long snapping also takes an incredible amount of practice. The form and technique of long snapping, in my opinion, are the most important part of long snapping. I practice all blocks and long snapping religiously
every day, staying on the practice field well after everyone else has left. I find that the more effort
that one gives, the better the results one receives. My father’s saying, results=effort, represents this perfectly.

Other activites and interests: By far my favorite activity to do in my spare time is to play pick up football games with my friends and teammates. When we play football, the worse the weather, the more interesting and fun the game is. When I am not playing or practicing football, I can usually be found riding my bike or exercising and lifting weights.
