1. Why did you decide to sign with Miami University of Ohio?
I chose to sign with Miami in June. This was very late notice because of unexpected track success. I was also All Ohio in Football and was planning to play at a smaller college before I began to get Division 1 track offers in late May and early June. I chose Miami over some other MAC schools because of their academic standards, great campus and facilities, and because several of my friends will also be attending.
2. Describe the excitement you feel about becoming a college student-athlete?
I am very excited about the opportunity to compete in the MAC and to train year round with high caliber athletes.
3. What advice would you give to other athletes looking to get recruited?
My advice to other kids with college sports aspirations is to work hard and hopefully your performance will get noticed. Also, I wouldn’t and didn’t waste money on expensive recruiting websites, I found that emailing the coaches directly or having high school coaches talk to them on my behalf was a great method.
4. Who has been the biggest influence in your sports career and why?
My greatest influences are my older brothers Scott and Ross, as well as my track coach, Dave Agosta. Without these people to guide and support me I undoubtedly wouldn’t have had this opportunity.
5. What would you like to accomplish during college sports career?
My goals for college track as a freshman are to enjoy the experience and reach my athletic potential.
