Recommendation: Zak has a bright future on the baseball field. After coaching him for the summer (2017/18) I was very impressed with the strides he made behind the dish, and at the plate. He spent the summer as a defensive option for us behind the plate, in a mens league, at sixteen. He works hard for his pitchers, blocks well and has a strong arm. He was years younger then his teammates but improved immensely with his receiving (he spent the summer catching 2 AA professional pitchers) and pitch calling as a result of this. His bat caught up with the older competition as the season went on and he was holding his own after adjusting for a couple of months (he had a hard average, lining out plenty and as he matures I see the solid contact equating to extra base power) His work ethic, talent, love for the game and respect for his coaches and teammates stands out and gives this young man every chance to achieve his baseball dreams.
