Shane has been a member of the Corona Del Sol Basketball program the last two years. During this time I have watched Shane grow and mature as a student and athlete. He is a dedicated individual who works hard to achieve his goals both in the classroom and on the basketball court. Shane has worked very hard over the last two years and it shows in his development as a player. He is a good shooter, he has good ball handling skills and rebounds well. He will sacrifice for his teammates and will do whatever the team needs to win. Shane is very coachable and has a great work ethic. He also has excellent practice habits. Shane has a passion to be successful and has a great love for the game. Shane is well liked and respected by his fellow teammates, classmates, teachers, administrators and his coaches. Over the course of my coaching career i have been fortunate to have coached many players that have gone on to play at the collegiate level. It is my Privilege to write this recommendation for Shane Grier. I was fortunate enough to coach Shane on the Corona del Sol High School basketball team last year. In all of my dealings with Shane he has shown to be a young man of character, intelligence, and talent. He is now a junior at Corona and is displaying the leadership and work ethic that every coach hopes for from his top players. Shane is one of the hardest working student athletes that I have worked with in my 8 years of coaching basketball. He never takes a day off. He leads by example. Shane is relentless as a player. He wants to be on the court at all times. He has worked hard since last season on his strength and quickness. As a sophomore he was my best player, leading the team in points and rebounds. As a junior, he will have a big role on the Varsity program. Shane has taken his natural talent to the next level through hard work and tremendous desire to excel. As fine a basketball player as Shane is, he is even a finer young man. He displays a great attitude in the classroom. The same work ethic that has made him such a good basketball player has made him a strong student. Shane is polite, and humble as well as a positive role model for all at Corona del Sol High School. I strongly believe that Shane Grier will be an asset to any program. He will figure out what he has to do to be successful and then he will go about getting it done. No one will out work him.
