Michael is a great young man that possesses many of the traits required to be a successful college baseball player. He is a tireless worker, relentless with his love of the game, and able to maintain perspective while overcoming adversity. In his short time in our program, he has improved velocity and pitch metrics significantly, all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA in an academically rigorous school. He is aggressive on the mound and attacks hitters with the appropriate mix of pitches, highlighting the ability to showcase different offerings to adjust to each situation and hitter. Being a late bloomer can sometimes be a blessing in this game, as the requisite skills to be successful are acquired and not given. Michael will continue to blossom in college as his supreme work ethic and drive to be successful will be a separator for him.

Michael has shown everyone here at KPI that he possesses a very strong work ethic for his age, and a passion to learn new things. Early last spring Michael made the decision to spend his high school season training and developing as a pitcher here at KPI. Michael quickly progressed on the mound & in the weight room while still maintaining a high GPA at one of the best academic High-schools in Northern California. While working a full time internship this summer, Michael was able to navigate a rigorous training & tournament schedule that was put in front of him. During his short time here at KPI, Michael has shown a relentless drive to get better every day, and a passion to continue to learn each and every week. He is an individual of great character, and moral who is quick to build strong relationships with any coach he comes in contact with. It’s very rare you find athletes these days that are as passionate about the game of baseball as Michael.

Michael is currently a Junior at Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose, California. Michael is mature beyond his years, demonstrates empathy by living out the mission of being a Man For and With Others, is intelligent earning a weighted GPA of 4.0 through four semesters of college preparatory level education, recognizes the importance of hard work, has the ability to overcome significant adversity, while having a tremendous passion and love for the game of baseball. When not on the mound as a RHP, which was his primary position last season, he pays attention to each pitch and part of the game when in the dugout. Michael takes his knowledge, baseball intelligence, character, and competitive spirit out to the field with him each day. It is important to note he does not only do this on game days, but he brings the same high level of focus, work ethic, and competitiveness to practices as well each day. He consistently is working to improve his skills, while helping teammates improve themselves for the sake of caring for the individual and as well as the whole team.
