I have had the pleasure of coaching Jo over the last few years, in our off season High Performance programs, and in the NSW Representative team at last years' Nationals (Australia). Jo is a dedicated ballplayer who continually strives to improve his game, with an excellent attitude towards training and game day. Jo has a happy nature and is well liked by his peers, and exhibits great energy on the field. Jo has a great set of hands, with good range, and a strong arm which means he is a great defender in his favoured position of shortstop, and is equally comfortable on the other side of the diamond at 2nd Base. As a hitter, Jo has great plate awareness, makes good contact, and shows good speed and awareness on the bases, which makes him a good option in the 1 or 2 whole of the line-up. An asset to any team, Jo exhibits true courage and determination with a desire to succeed.

You notice about Jo 1st up is his ability to cover ground in the infield along with his slick glovework, transitioning and strong arm. Jo provides great instincts for the game and reads the situations of the game from pitch to pitch. With age his strength has progressed in all aspects of the game including his bat and has turned into a very good gap to gap hitter and can see going a long way in his baseball and is the player who always comes off the field dirty.

I have had the privilege of coaching Jo now across 3 years. Jo has proven himself in many areas of his game. Jo has been a starter at club, state and national level and has been fortunate enough to compete in a number of international tournaments to date. Jo adds a defensive spark plug that can lift his team with his on field intensity and his ability to make difficult plays look easy. he has also developed into a solid top of the line up hitter with ability to hit for a high average. Jo has incredible plate awareness and understand his strike zone well. Jo would be an asset to any lineup purely with the passion for the game that he outputs.
