PERSONAL STATEMENT
My name is Jesse Gadd and I am in my Senior year at La Quinta High School in La Quinta California. I primarily play first base, but I also play third. My collegiate baseball goal is to play at as high a level as I can. Academically, I take mainly IB and AP classes and a good collegiate fit is also an important goal of mine. Presently I am interested in possibly studying in the fields of sciences or social sciences.
I am open to attending collages in different geographical regions. Playing on teams where I have known none of my new team mates and attending camps in different states knowing no one, has strengthened my ability to adapt to adversity and to handle unfamiliar territory. My freshman year at La Quinta was the first public school I attended. It is a school of 2600, compared to the private school I attended from pre -school through 8th grade, which was roughly 500 students. This ability to adapt has strengthened my character and keeps me open to the possibilities of different collages and opportunities. I feel another strength of mine is understanding little things in baseball that go a long way. I take pride in my hustle, being a good team mate, picking up team mates when necessary, or warming up the left fielder if necessary. I recognize all of these responsibilities as important to building a good team.
I am a honor role student with a 4.3 GPA taking rigorous honors , IB and AP classes. I work hard on my game, mixing baseball skill training with speed and agility and weight workouts. I believe my work ethic carried through the next two years will open up the doors to a college that will be a good fit.
