PERSONAL INFORMATION |
Describe Your Playing Style?: | I am a pitcher who has grown to love, and looks to model, the styles of Maddux and Hendricks. I love the chess-match mentality of being a pitcher, and getting hitters out because I outsmarted them for that at bat. |
Personal Statement: | I try to embody the term student-athlete, in its fullest sense. As a student I have a passion for learning, especially through intellectual opportunities like my summer at Phillips Exeter Academy. As an athlete, I love following the sports world on ESPN, but I most love being active on a baseball field and playing baseball for 14+ hours a week. I pursue my passion of being an elite student, of playing baseball, and of finding the perfect balance in life, all while preserving the fun. |
Favorite Athlete(s) and why?: | Mike Trout- I love his domianance as a player, and he always seems to do something amazing every game Greg Maddux/Kyle Hendricks- Outsmarting hitters rather than overpowering them, pitching rather than throwing, is what really draws me to these two pitchers. Bobby Wagner- Middle Linebacker for the Seattle Seahawks, he's one of the smartest and most driven players that I've seen, and his work ethic and passion are what I look to emulate. |
Other activites and interests: | Baseball Student Government Mock Trial Parish Youth Group Leader Service clubs (My Empower2Play club) Choir |
Who's been the biggest influence on my sports career and why?: | No doubt my parents. They have given and sacrificed so much so that I can pursue my dreams of playing high school and college baseball, I can never thank them enough. They look for and try to give me every opportunity possible, and have subsequently made my athletic career successful and, more importantly, incredibly fun. |
About Me: | I am a going-to-be senior. I have been involved in several organizations on campus including Student Ambassador, Peer Minister, and ASB Secretary. I, along with baseball, have also been a part of the well-regarded Santa Margarita chambers choir, which has added to the great all-around experience of high school. I have been a high honors student recipient, and also Student-Athlete award recipient for the past 3 years, while attaining the highest GPA in my baseball program with a 4.86 GPA in my Junior year. I play for Santa Margarita baseball as an Eagle, for ASD as a Bulldog, and also for Baseball West Coast. I work out with Josh Reidt at Reidt fitness, which provides specialized workouts for pitchers. I also am active as a youth leader, or SKYLIGHT, and often run Confirmation 2 retreats. |
