PERSONAL STATEMENT
I have a variety of quotes that I refer to which keep me motivated. One such quote is "I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." -Michael Jordan

Recommendation: Dear Coach,

I am fortunate to have Dominic Palma as a student and a baseball player at Cactus Shadows High School. I have known Dominic for the past three years. It has been a pleasure watching him grow into a fine young man and I am looking forward to watching his growth through the remainder of his high school career.

I really got to know Dom’s personality while he was in my health class. He always entered the room with a big smile on his face and ready to learn. He participated and took a serious interest in learning. He got along well with all his classmates and was a perfect example of what any teacher would expect from a great student. He was very friendly and contributed to the class atmosphere in a positive way. He is a young man who is serious about his studies and he knows the importance of doing well with his academics.

As a baseball player, Dom is working hard to be the best that he can be. He has a passion for the game and it shows by his hustle and competitive nature. He puts in the effort to improve all aspects of his game. Dominic is very coachable. He listens to instruction well and is always willing to make any tweak that will improve his game. After watching Dom play his shortened sophomore season, there is no doubt that he is a player to watch. He is very projectable and I feel he will be a division 1 baseball player. He plays a very smooth middle infield and does a good job running balls down in the outfield as well. Dominic is developing into a top of the order type of hitter. He has excellent speed and can steal some bases. He is also very good at his bunt game. I can count on him for solid defense and a tough at bat no matter what. It will be fun to watch his talent play out over the next two years.

Based on what Dominic has shown, he projects to be a solid candidate to play college baseball. I know he will be an asset to many programs. I hope that you would give Dominic strong consideration to fill one of your roster spots.
Thank you
