Career Bio

Katie is originally from central Virginia and started playing lacrosse at the age of nine. Her parents strived to keep her well-rounded throughout her childhood, so she also participated in multiple sports, choirs, bands, various community service projects and mission trips, in addition to her rigorous academic schedule. After making varsity as an 8th grader, Katie discovered that her true passion was lacrosse.

She ended her high school career as a 5-year varsity member and starter, was selected as an All-Conference and All-State 1st team member, and in her junior year was selected to be a member of the 2009 Virginia chapter of the National Team. In her senior year, Katie signed her National Letter of Intent to play Division 1 lacrosse at Long Island University Brooklyn on a full scholarship. Upon the conclusion of her freshman season, she was selected as a member of the Rookie of the Year Conference Team.

After her sophomore year, Katie transferred to the University of Mary Washington where she finished out her college lacrosse career. She was selected as an All-Conference and All-Region player as Mary Washington finished in the top 20 for Division III.

Since her graduation in 2014, Katie moved to San Diego and took on the role as Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach at UCSD, under Head Coach Andrea Ervay, were she has discovered a true love for coaching. Katie also works closely with Andrea as the Women’s College Lacrosse Recruiting Advisor at SportsForce, helping to advise high school athletes who have the desire to play at the collegiate level.

Officially partnering together, Katie and Andrea launched TEAM Lacrosse Academy to aid in the development of female lacrosse players of any age and skill set. Their mission is to mentor female student-athletes to help them become the best overall versions of themselves both on and off the field. She has since moved to Wilmington, North Carolina, where she serves as Assistant Coach for Methodist University, continues to coach at various youth levels and foster the growth of the game as Director of TEAM.

Why Athletes & Parents Are Raving About Us

  • Marcus Yandall Marcus Yandall Committed to Elmhurst College
I would recommend SportsForce to any athlete looking to play a college sport because of all of the help their service provides. SportsForce really makes sure you end up at the best-fitting school and provides you the tools and resources you need to easily make contact with the coaches of your choosing.
  • Jack Pharies Jack Pharies Committed to Centre College
The best way to put it is that Sportsforce allowed me to control the recruiting process rather than the recruiting process controlling me. Sportsforce helps to not only level the playing field with their knowledge and guidance, but they help put the player in control of that process by giving the player the tools to target schools, get noticed by the coaches, and to get ahead of the recruiting cycle. –Kathy Pharies Mother of Jack Pharies
  • Ryan Friedman Ryan Friedman Committed to Hamilton College
Chad regularly gave me advice on how to approach any aspect of the process, from skill specific workouts, to how to show myself at tournaments, to how to speak to college coaches on visits. SportsForce also helped me maintain relationships with all the coaches I was interested in. If I had not been recruited I would likely not have known about this school, which is going to be giving us a large amount of financial aid, which I may not have received at a different institution, likely several thousand dollars per year.
  • Jack Bodine Jack Bodine Committed to Haverford College
The educational information SportsForce provides is an essential foundation for any parents of athletes considering college sports. Knowing the game plan before you start makes the recruiting process much easier to understand and navigate. Thanks for your professionalism, your comprehensive services, and your personalized attention. – Laurie Bodine (Mother of Jack Bodine)
