Career Bio

Gus Kaplanges joins the SportsForce Team with over 40 years of baseball coaching experience, including 25+ years at the high school and Showcase levels. Affectionately known to his HS & Showcase players as "Coach Gus", he currently is the Head Baseball Coach at Annapolis HS and is proudest of his Annapolis Baseball Program's 3.75 GPA for the 2018 school year. Gus was recently named the 2018 All-County (Anne Arundel Co) High School Coach of the Year by the Baltimore Sun and the Capital Gazette News Paper. In addition to being the Head Coach at Annapolis HS (MD), "Coach Gus" has also coached on the HS Showcase Circuit with notable teams like the EvoShield CANES over the years, winning numerous titles, among other top programs during his many years of coaching. Gus is the Executive Director of CrabFest Baseball; a player development, special events and showcase program.

With over 25 years, as a coach, consulting families, players and other coaches through the collegiate recruiting process, Gus has developed a large network of personal relationships based on respect for his reputation of integrity with collegiate recruiters and head coaches throughout the industry. Gus Kaplanges has helped place literally hundreds, if not more, student/athletes into NCAA, NAIA & NJCAA baseball programs at the D1, D2, and D3 levels. Gus has 3 children and currently resides on the Eastern Shore of MD with his wife Sandy.
