By utilizing SportsForce and its team of expert advisors, recent high school graduate Jake Dunagan was able to find the perfect school for him to further his baseball career.
As a high school student-athlete looking to play baseball at the next level, Dunagan didn’t know where to turn. College showcases and camps were contacting him and his family from every direction, but Dunagan wanted to be sure he was attending the right events to help him the most individually. It became clear to the Dunagan family that they needed help devising a formal plan towards college baseball that they could have confidence in.
During the summer before his junior year, Dunagan reached out to SportsForce. By taking his specific preferences into account, SportsForce
advised Dunagan to attend particular college camps and showcases that made the most sense based on his target list of schools, availability, and what would provide the biggest return on investment for his family.
“SportsForce helped me get my name out to countless colleges and helped me develop a great plan to get in front of them. I am extremely excited to continue my baseball career in college.” – Jake Dunagan
The personalized plan SportsForce created for Dunagan included all of its major hands-on comprehensive components. The team at SportsForce tailored its approach for the Dunagan family based on academic profile, geographical goals, academic major, level of college baseball program and financial package.
Through the individual plan that SportsForce created, Dunagan went from having zero schools interested in him to having active interest from more than eight Division I programs. SportsForce contacted over 30 college baseball programs about Dunagan, and more than 60 college coaches supported his recruiting plan.
“We provided Jake with ongoing guidance and tips on how to communicate with coaches over the phone, what questions to ask, when to ask certain questions and more,” Beinbrink said. Due to the number of college baseball programs Dunagan was in contact with, he said he improved his communication skills, stayed confident in his abilities and remained faithful throughout the process.
“Communication is key,” Dunagan said. “The more you communicate, the more opportunities.”
The Dunagan family had a long but rewarding journey. In November 2019, Dunagan committed to play Division I baseball at Davidson College.
With the guidance of SportsForce, Dunagan was able to find a school that represented everything he and his family were looking for, like his academic major, an ideal coaching staff and leadership approach, the opportunity for early playing time and a sensible financial package.
“I enjoyed and learned a lot from my journey, even though it felt long and was challenging at times,” Dunagan said. “SportsForce helped me get my name out to countless colleges and helped me develop a great plan to get in front of them. I am extremely excited to continue my baseball career in college.”
