Alyssa Sobolik

Alyssa will be overseeing the soccer needs for Sports Force. As an NCAA DI National Champion in soccer (Santa Clara University 2001), former college coach (University of San Diego) and current club coach (Rancho Santa Fe Attack, San Diego, CA), she plans to bring her strong sports experience and knowledge to the Sports Force team. Having played varsity basketball in high school, and not soccer, Alyssa also brings a diverse sports background and balance to the table.

Having been involved in summer soccer camps, clinics, private trainings and team practices, she understands the aches and pains that not only she went through to be seen by college coaches, but what players today are going through. Having coached at almost every level and played club, ODP (Olympic Development Program) and at one of the top Division I teams in the USA, she understands what it takes to achieve your goals. She praises and gives credit to her soccer knowledge to her club coach / Santa Clara Goalkeeper coach, Eric Yamamoto, and Santa Clara head coach Jerry Smith. Both coaches are respected coaches throughout the soccer world and have not only had success at the collegiate level, but internationally with ODP as well. With this knowledge and experience she has earned the reputation as a very prominent and sought after Goalkeeper coach in the San Diego area having helped many High School athletes dramatically improve their skills, ultimately increasing their chances of playing at the collegiate level.

Alyssa’s sports background after high school includes 3 trips to the College Cup (2001, 2002, 2004), two appearances in the finals and one National Championship win in 2001. This is currently Santa Clara University’s only women’s soccer National Championship and she played and started in it as a true freshman. She graduated from Santa Clara University in four years with a Communication degree in 2004.

Two of Alyssa’s high school senior Goalkeepers secured college roster spots at the University of San Diego and Dixie State University and will be attending these schools in the fall.

Athletic Achievements:
• Lettered four years in Varsity Basketball at St. Francis High School in Mountain View, CA
• Named a second-team All-League honoree as a junior
• Won Northern CA State Championship twice with her club team Santa Clara Sonic, as a captain.
• Appeared in the Far West Regional Tournament two years, each year finishing second
• 2001 Was invited to the White House to meet President Bush after winning a National Championship.

• As a Freshman, she started 16 matches and registered 32 saves, allowed only nine goals for a league-leading 0.56 goals-against average and a 14-2 record, ranked ninth nationally in goals against average. ‘Was one of only two freshmen ranked in the top 20 Nationally.
• Appeared three out of her four years in the Final Four
• Is the only Santa Clara Goalkeeper to appear in a National Championship game
• Was 2-0 against National powerhouse UNC.

Alyssa is excited and believes that with her knowledge and sports relationships combined with the rest of the SportsForce team, we are providing a much needed resource that will offer clarity on what athletes, parents and coaches can do to prepare student-athletes for college sports. Furthermore SportsForce will provide the tools for athletes to reach their full potential!

Most Memorable Sports Moment: Watching the clock hit zero in the National Championship game!
